We all know what the Most High’s Name YHWH is, as it was preserved and carried down through history by those devoted to YHWH. Except for the devoted few, we would not know it, and much regarding the pronunciation is shrouded in confusion, due to the almost complete removal of the Name from historical understanding.
There has been a concerted effort to cover up the Most High’s name, and many other historical, biblical, spiritual truths through the twisting of language and meanings, in order for the enemy to usurp world power and worship for himself.
The name of the Most High has been attempted to be completely wiped out by the forces of evil, so there would be no way for people to have a relationship with, maintain connection with, worship, be obedient to, pray to, or call upon YHWH for help. And they just about succeeded too. Look around you. Who today is using the name YHWH in church, synagogue, in prayer, in worship, etc?
The elimination of the Most High’s Sacred Name was accomplished through the very highest levels of both religions that supposedly believed in YHWH: Judaism, the very people that the Sacred Name and Biblical history came from; and the Catholic Church, the very people responsible for continuing the work and worship of The Savior.
The first step may have begun with the Jews that were exiled in Babylon in 597 BC, because on returning 59 years later, their entire version of Judaism was changed. Jeremiah wrote concerning scribal tampering of Scriptures:
“‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of YHWH, when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of YHWH, what kind of wisdom do they have?” (Jeremiah 8:8-9)
They began the practice of not speaking The Most High’s Name, claiming that it was too sacred to speak. This resulted in full scale ban on speaking the Name, including making the speaking of it illegal and a sin, until it even became punishable by death. And since The Torah and Tanakh were often read aloud, the Sacred Name was replaced in them as well. By the 3rd Century BC, at around the time of the Second Temple period, The Sacred Name had been completely removed from use.
The doctrine is called The Ineffable Name Doctrine, and it is still practiced today. They substitute many other words in for YHWH, including the term” Ha Shem” which literally means “The Name”.
Reference to the “ineffable name” doctrine appears in many historical works, including the works of Justin Martyr, a Samaritan convert to Christianity, from 150 AD.
For no one can utter the name of the ineffable God; and if any one dare to say that there is a name, he raves with a hopeless madness. (I Apology, 61)
These quotes even suggest that the Jews said that The Most High did not even have a name! And all the Jews even now teach that the nameless God spoke to Moses. (I Apology, 63)
By doing this, The Old Testament of The Bible was forever altered. Then the Catholic Church did much the same thing as the Jewish Pharisees but across the Old and New Testament, and even took it a step further.
For when the early Catholic Church set out to convert pagans to Christianity, to ease the transition, they allowed The Goths to bring their pagan practices, including bringing the name of their deity into their practice of Christianity. In order to evangelize them, they made a version of the Bible in their Gothic language, and replaced nearly 7000 instances of “YHWH” and “Ilohim” with “God” and “Lord”.
Through this combined effort, The Holy Bible was stripped of the Most High’s Name.
The Catholics let the identity of the Most High be usurped by the Devil by allowing the pagans they “converted”, to bring the name of the enemy of YHWH into the church and be worshipped as Him. (So who converted who exactly?) To learn more, read our article series, The Unholy Truth of God.
The Catholics even instituted their own version of the Ineffable Name Doctrine (The Vatican Directive 2008), citing Jewish tradition as the supposed reason, despite what the Bible says about speaking the Name YHWH:
“But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” (Exodus 9:16)
So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who revere YHWH and who meditate on His name. (Malachi 3:16)
“He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” (2 Samuel 7:13)
I know of a mystery. I have read the sky tablets. I have seen the sacred books. I found written therein an inscription about the ones For whom all goodness, joy, and admiration is prepared; Written down for the ruachim of those who died in obedience. Manifold good will be given you in exchange for your work; Your fate is abundantly better than that of any living soul. In a blazing light, I will bring forth Those who love My Sacred Name. I will seat them upon sky-thrones. There will they dazzle timelessly, For YHWH judged them obedient. (1 Enoch 103:2,3; 1 Enoch 108:13)
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. “ (2 Chron 7:14)
“And now O priests this commandment is for you. If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My Name, I will send a curse upon you” (Malachi 2:2)
How long do the prophets delight to prophesy lies, even prophesying the deceit of their own heart? Think they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their forefathers have forgotten my Name for Lord (Baal). (Jeremiah 23:25-27)
“But you who forsake YHWH, who forget my holy mountain, who set a table for Gad (pronounced God, who is the mighty one of fortune) and fill cups of mixed wine for Meni, I will destine you to the sword, and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter, because, when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not listen, but you did what was evil in my eyes and chose what I did not delight in.” (Isaiah 65:11-12)
It seems both religions are trying to cut the believers off from their Creator and lead them astray. But why would they want this? It seems they are vehicles of the enemy, and they should not be trusted with your salvation!
But thankfully there were some who, despite the risk of death, not only kept the Sacred Name preserved, they also kept it in its original form, the Paleo-Hebrew script, even though that script had been replaced by the Babylonian square script alphabet on return from exile in 538 BC.
Without a devout remnant such as these, we might not have knowledge of The Sacred Name of The Most High YHWH today. And those who would otherwise think they are saved would be cut off from salvation.
Our plea for you: Please cry out to YHWH for forgiveness, for thanks, and share this message with all that you can!
