Gifts/Giving
Typical donations that are not tied to tithe obligation or offerings for a specific purpose, are considered gifts. Gifts / donations are often associated with things that move your heart/spirit. Below are a list of some types of giving:
Almsgiving
In the heart of biblical teachings lies almsgiving, a practice as ancient as faith itself. This form of giving is not just about charity; it’s a profound expression of empathy and mercy.
The Bible heralds almsgiving as more than just an act of kindness – it’s a spiritual discipline, an integral part of a believer’s life. Almsgiving, in its essence, is about reaching out to those in need, reflecting the boundless compassion that Christianity advocates.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a demonstration of thanks to The Most High beyond the obligation of tithes. It can be associated with Holy Day offerings, or other acknowledgements of thanks for receiving a blessing or for feeling blessed in general.
Love Gifts
A love offering is a gift given to a service member or pastor, or to someone in need in the congregation, or community in general. Love offerings can be given on occasions like birthdays, Christmas, or anniversaries, and can be used to thank staff for their work.
