“Lord” is Baal in Hebrew

“Lord” is Baal in Hebrew

“Baal” means “Lord” in Hebrew

As any Christian should know from many, many places in the Bible, Baal is the name of a false deity that The Most High YHWH expressly commands the Israelites not to follow. Baal is known to be the (false) deity of fertility, storms, war and seasons, whose worship is associated with idolatry, demon worship, divination, polytheism, and deviant perversion and sex rituals. It seems this particular deity named opened the door to allowing a pantheon of demons to be worshipped as deities and were therefore called by this name in varied localities that were named after them eg. Baal Peor, Baalzebub, etc. Baal was known to be worshipped by many people including the Canaanites, the Phoenicians, the Moabites, Babylonians, Arameans, as well as others in the ancient Levant.

But did you know that “Baal” means “Lord” in Hebrew?

So why are Christians using the term “Lord” (which is “Baal” in Hebrew) to refer to The Most High?

Christians, who are followers of The Most High Creator and Savior, YHWH, use the word “Lord” instead of His actual name, even though He, as documented in the Bible, speaks explicitly against this practice.

The Bible says,

Do not speak the names of other might ones (deities) (Exodus 23:13)

“How long do the prophets delight to prophesy lies, even prophesying the deceit of their own heart? Think they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their forefathers have forgotten my Name for Lord (Baal)” (Jeremiah 23:25-27)

When looking for blame, we can once again look to those who altered the Bible, thus disobeying YHWH’s commands to remember His Name, thus causing the whole world to also disobey YHWH:

  • The Pharisees, who led the removal of use of the Most High’s name from The Bible via the Ineffable Name Doctrine, and replacing it with the term “Adonai” (Phoenician) which was then translated to “Lord”. But then…
  • Translators who did not translate the word “Baal” to reveal its meaning to be “Lord”, so that Christians could read the scripture as it is meant to be read as “

“How long do the prophets delight to prophesy lies, even prophesying the deceit of their own heart? Think they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their forefathers have forgotten my Name for Lord (Jeremiah 23:25-27)

Anyone with eyes can see that this passage is saying to not use the term Lord for The Most High!

“Lord” is not a term of endearment, it is a term of enslavement.

The word “Lord”, as does the word “Adonai” and “Messiah” (in Greek), means “ruler”, “controller, “master” or more accurately “owner”.

Would The Most High, who is our loving Father in Heaven, want us to call Him a term that means “owner”?

This is not the relationship that The Most High and The Savior want from us. The Most High wants an intimate relationship, one of extreme love, as one between family members, or a parent and child.

Sure, you can say that Christians have been bought and paid for by the blood of Yahusha through His sacrifice. But is that the point of His sacrifice? Or is it His immeasurable love for us? Wouldn’t a word that has that as its central theme be a more appropriate term of endearment. Here are some examples of words that better embodies the relationship that The Most High wants with His children:

  • “Yadid” – which portrays an intimate, covenantal affection of a cherished protective love. Or how about:
  • “Katan”(“bridegroom) which has the idea of joining together in complete truth and honesty. After all The Bible calls Yahusha the Bridegroom who will return for His Bride.
  • Or what about simply USE HIS NAME! After all, Yahusha means “YHWH Saves”.

Innocent Mistake or Eternal Damnation?

But besides not heeding the warnings of the Bible, but falling prey to deceivers, a much bigger problem emerges from this supposed “innocent mistake”.

If it weren’t enough that taking on a practice that was utilized by pagan devil worshippers isn’t enough, the fact that the practice of using the name “Lord” to refer to the monotheist deity that explicitly commanded against these false deities is an ultimate betrayal by those who claim to believe and follow Him. One could say it is an abomination. And The Bible does say it is:

“Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, make offerings to Baal, and go after other gods that you have not known, and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? (Jeremiah 7:8-10)

It seems pretty clear from this passage that this is no small matter to The Most High, but that deliverance itself is in question for those who follow this practice.

To recap, Christians

  • willingly adopted a practice from pagan religion
  • disobeyed direct commands from The Most High to not speak the names of other mighty ones
  • disobeyed direct commands to not call Him by the names of other mighty ones.

It seems from these crimes, that Christians are no better than the disobedient Israelites that they were meant to learn from as to what NOT to do.

And by going directly against the commands of the Most High, and therefore disregarding the sacrifice made for them that they are in full awareness of, they have diminished the sacrifice that The Savior made for them.

The truth is, if we found this truth, then anyone can find it as well, so there may be no excuse for not knowing this.

But what matters, what it comes down to is if you are seeking it or not, showing earnest effort to find the truth. We believe that effort will be counted. Because the Hebrew language has a word for an unintentional or unwitting act made that deviates from the revealed will of The Most High – it is “shegiah”.

That is why we are sharing this message, in hopes that it will reach those who are looking, so they can honor The Most High as He desires, so they can experience the deepest relationship with Him as possible.
